The three major steps to any design process are vision, execution and analysis. The vision is the most difficult and important step in any project. I strive to complete the search for the appropriate vision for a specific project efficiently. That vision comes from experience, inspiration and the dedication of time to conceptualize the project’s form and function. Once the vision is established and communicated, the greatest obstacle has been cleared. Executing the vision is a matter of commitment, concentration and dedication. Mastery of specific skills required for execution and experience speeds up implementation; therefore a constant program of continuing education is required. Finally, if you do not continually review your design process it will never improve, so the last step in the process is always analysis. Review your successes and failures constantly to improve your process and define skills that need improvement.
